Feelings and stuff

In this little blog o’ mine, I write a lot about letting go of the stuff that’s holding you back, and I also write a lot about feelings. To me, these two separate but equally important ideas go hand-in-hand. If you are surrounded by clutter and chaos, it affects how you feel. I believe clutter sucks your energy and drains you. I believe clutter contributes to unhappiness. I believe clutter steals joy.

This is why I stress the importance of paying attention to how you feel when you’re at home. If your surroundings aren’t bringing you happiness, you have the power and choice to change that.

Take it one step at a time. Choose a kitchen drawer or a pantry shelf or a drawer in your master closet. Pull everything out of the drawer or off the shelf. Sort into general categories. Decide what you want to eliminate (donate or trash). Once you have the items you want to keep, place them back in the drawer or on the shelf in an organized fashion. Repeat.
