Our lives are complicated. I get it. We’ve got a million things going on and our minds are being pulled in a million different directions. We’re stressed out. We’re exhausted. And to top it all off, we pile on the added burden of buying the perfect gift (or gifts) for everyone on our holiday shopping list.
This is the ideal opportunity to take a step back, take a moment, and just breathe.
Whenever I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I’ll close my eyes, smile, and take a deep breath in and a big exhale. Doing so helps me in so many ways I don’t even realize, including bringing the mind to the present moment.
It’s a beautiful act of mindfulness and self-preservation.
