Even though my home is small-ish (780 square feet), both the living room and bedroom contain floor to ceiling windows, which bring in tons of light and help my space feel so much more expansive. My view is south-facing, so in the summer when the sun is higher in the sky, my space is light and airy, but also cool because it's shaded. When the darkness of winter comes, the sunlight pours in through the windows, bringing much-needed brightness and warmth to my small space.
Through these windows I see possibility, opportunity and expansiveness. Light and open space are inspiring and allow room to breathe.
When working with clients, I often encourage clients to open the curtains or blinds and let in the light. Doing so can change the dynamic of the space from feeling closed in and suffocating to expansive and free, and that's a beautiful thing!
