Do you love your stuff? Then honor it.

Contrary to what you might think, I’m not a hard-line minimalist. I appreciate beautiful things as much as the next person.

What gets me, though, is when individuals say an item is important and/or meaningful to them, and yet it’s squashed in a drawer behind a two-year old issue of People magazine, old soy sauce packets and some stray Milk Duds.

Money well-spent

About three weeks ago, I came home to a beautiful bouquet of hydrangeas: a "just because" gift from my spouse. The flowers were gorgeous, they brightened our dining room like nobody's business, they brought a smile to my face every time I saw them and they lasted more than two weeks! Best of all, they cost less than $6 from the grocery store down the street.
